In a Way it Looks Good
This set of paintings are about individual characteristics. Each object shows different properties. By combining objects with different properties, we can see how each object is unique and good in relation to each other. Objects look better in this larger context. In my paintings, I arrange the still life objects to enhance and reveal their potential properties, shapes, and colors. This reflects my wish that while society encourages conformity, we can try to recognize people’s subtle differences and help them to realize their full potential.
I am a college student, and I think colleges are strange places. Students learn about themselves and become better people, but they can also learn to conform to social norms. In my paintings, I hope to show individuals that their full potential comes from their relationship with others. I hope we find a way to help people to realize their full potential and improve our society.
