ALICIA WILLIAMS

PERSONAL WEBSITE

I am interested in many things. I am a designer, but also I love to make things with my hands. There is never a particular theme I work on. I make my pieces through the thought process of "what is possible?" and "what am I feeling like doing right now?" I make a lot of art that is for myself or people close to me, but I do also make art that is to be viewed by others. I am influenced by the thought of ownership and functionality. I look at my art as something I want someone to hang on their walls, place in their home, or even enjoy while using for other purposes (i.e. favorite themed cards). Some I create in the sense that it is my style and how I would enjoy it, like paintings, but I also create some art by following what I have learned through college to perfect placement, color, and typeface choices where it would be most eye catching and pleasing to the viewer. I create all of my works with the intention of them being pleasing to look at, but not from a technical standpoint, more on the aesthetic side. I like my work to either be easily understandable or lets the imagination wander to what the viewer perceives it as.
